Human Rights Day is observed globally on December 10th to assist with promoting and celebrating fundamental rights and freedoms that everyone is entitled to irrespective of their nationality, gender, race, religion or background. As union members let us take part in promoting and celebrating the fundamental right and freedoms that everyone is entitled to by holding lunch and learn sessions; inviting speakers at your local meetings; recognize members who have worked to promote human rights in the workplace; participate in community actions and above all learn more about what Canada is doing in its role to promote human rights.
